Vacations dying?

The time every student looks forward with huge expectation
Yes dear friends, it was our joyous time called Vacation

No books, No studies, and more importantly No compulsion
Play is the only word which comes to mind without tension

Vacation is a real wonder time of enthusiasm and joy
Students have ample of time for fun and also to enjoy
It really does not matter whether it is a girl or a boy
While Boys enjoy playing cricket, girls enjoy their kitchen toy

What a wonderful time, no words to describe the fun
Live happily, play merrily, forgetting the heat of the sun

Ludo, Carrom board, Cards are generally agenda of the noon
After a busy day, the nights spent playfully being under the moon

Priorities of vacation was to catch up sleep lost due to exam fever
Plan a jog/walk in the dawn with friends to tone the heart and liver
A major part of vacation was reserved for going to native together
For Vacations were incomplete without reunion of near and dear

All these were a part of our lives, experienced few years back
Today, with changes, the vacations are spent on a different track

Summer camps are mantra for the day, with seats sold even in black
With modernisation, the touch of togetherness is what students lack

Alas!! shall I dare say the meaning of vacations are lost
The loss of extra space in the student's life may have huge cost

Vacations have become an extended preparatory period, least to say
Vacations are the perfect break, a player looks forward in the play
Students are over burdened with studies throughout night and day
Let's give them a break they deserve, to make a move in their own way

  1. Tru Vishu tht Vacations hv lost its charm,
Coz parents wants their child to b n front & hence d harm.

During our childhood days v use to play land & water, badminton, gippi
Though simple games yet v wer happy.

Todays kids r techonology freak,.And they like computer games during their break.

Soon a day vil cum ven old games vil b played
Fearing d obesity on its race.

  3. Very True, Just recollected those lovely days called vacations, the most awaited time of the year of every child. But very disheartening fact that vacations are not spent as holidays, but as if parents got some extra time to teach their child one more activity.

Vacations are dying or shall i say died a very big loss for the next coming generations. I dont know parents who have higher expections from their kids at this kinder age to be blamed or the competetitive world... But the fact is children are loosing their childhood time to play, enjoy with such over burden activities.

Thanku Sir, for coming up with such an heart touching article hope some children will benefit from this and some parents could help their child to enjoy their vacations as holidays.
