A Costly Change

 A young rich lady, Ms Mona,

Enjoyed her life to the core

Never bothered about worries,

As she got more than she asked.

 

Attending kitty parties frequently

She had a wonderful gang of friends

Eating, gossiping, their days moved

She was living extravagantly.

 

One day, she felt dizzy and fell down

Worried, the friends took her to a nearby hospital

To the astonishment of everyone

She was diagnosed with a rare disease

 

“You will survive for a few days from now”

pronounced the doctor worriedly.

“No, I am unfinished with my living,”

a sobbing Mona claimed.

 

“Only God can help you,”

The doctor said in his normal tone and went.

Mona’s life had a U-turn completely,

She spent hours praying to God rigorously.

  

Such was her dedication and penance,

God appeared and granted her a wish.

“I want to be cured of this disease now”

said Ms Mona instantly without mincing words.

 

“Tathasthu” blessed God and vanished.

Overjoyed, Ms Mona was over the moon.

To celebrate, she wanted to pamper herself,

She took an appointment at her favourite spa.

 

After a relaxing session at the spa,

She was a changed woman altogether.

Happily, she stepped out on the road,

A speeding motor car hit, she died on the spot.

 

Reaching the heavens, she fumed ferociously,

"After granting a wish, why do you kill me?"

The God coolly replied, “O! Mona,

I never recognized you were the same!”

The moral of the story is simple 

Never ever change yourself so drastically,

that those who bless you, cannot recognize you.

Though alive, you will still be non-existent!!!
