Pupil (Student)
Rama was a teacher who used to be in the Pupil's Pupil always. He says you find pupil in all sizes, categories and genres - You name it and you have it. This is his collection of Pupil.
Rajendra was a notorious student and 'Out'standing one for almost all the lectures in the school. Rama was well aware of Rajendra's behaviours and his record too. That year, Rama was Class teacher of Rajendra. The very first day, there was a complaint against Rajendra by one student and he was asked by the subject teacher to meet principal. Rama sir intervened and took Rajendra's side saying "He believed that Rajendra was a good boy and would not have indulged in the bullying activity as per complaint". Rajendra was flattered and highly impressed by this class teacher. He smiled and escaped a routine Principal punishment. This was the first master stroke of Ramasir.
Next, Rama called Rajendra near him one day and asked him, whether he would like to become 'Prefect' of the Class. Prefect was a honorary badge given to students with either good academic record or a teacher's favourite student. Rajendra was baffled as he belonged to none of the categories. He was shocked at this proposal. Rama understood the dilemma in Rajendra's mind and he instructed Rama to convey his decision next day.
A confused Rajendra was happy as well as sad. Happy because he got this proposal and sad because he may have to mend his ways of living in the School. He would enjoy all the 'fun' of boy donning the badge but would miss the 'fun' of teasing the Class leader and Prefect that year. That evening he thought about the proposal and finally decided to give it a go. When opportunity knocks the door, why not open it wholeheartedly. The next day, Rajendra conveyed his decision to accept the responsibility.
While Rajendra was still adjusting to his new role, Rama gave another mental punch. He asked Rajendra to participate in the upcoming School sports competition. The sports day was a good 3 months down the line but Rama confided with Rajendra that he would be happy to see him participating in one of the ground activities. This was a huge challenge for Rajendra because he was over weight and had never participated in sports day challenge for these many years. On the other hand, he used to make fun of students who practiced for sports day competition.
There was something that Rajendra liked about Rama and followed his instructions perfectly. Rama always gave his instructions smilingly and Rajendra liked the way it was conveyed to him. That very day, he announced at home about his interest in the sports and additional responsibility entrusted upon him. The instant reaction of his parents was shock along with huge laughter. He himself knew that it was a challenge for him but mentally he had accepted it and decided to give it a try, not for anyone but for the belief and trust put upon him.
He started working out early in the morning and then attend the school. The positive results were there to be seen. In the next three months, Rajendra was in a new Avatar and he himself started liking him as well as he became a Role model in the classroom. Now, everyone in the school praised him for the change in paradigm. Though the grades and marks did not change much but the boy had changed drastically.
Even on the sports day, Rajendra did not win in any of the competitions and was sobbing. When suddenly he got a pat on his back. Yes, it was none other than, his favourite teacher - Rama sir. He was crying profusely now on his teacher's shoulders. Rama hugged him and was about to counsel him for his failure but Rajendra said - "I'm not crying for loosing out in the competition today, I'm feeling bad because i missed this fun for all these years. What I thought was fun was nothing and this is really wonderful. I owe all this to you sir". Rama sir was moved to hear the words, he knew his work is done and now Rajendra is good enough to live a successful life ahead.
This magic of Rama worked even this year and one more fan pupil was added to his list!!! Rama sir was a master magician and all teachers respected him for the sheer magic he played upon with this students. He had been doing different kinds of activities to keep students engaged and that yielded results which one could never expect.
Rama sir always said and followed the simple rule - When pupil request, the teacher arrives!!!
Good knowledge if we have bad result one time then next time we will do hard work then there will be more better result 😊
