You are one whom I respected the most as a freedom fighter

You are the one who inspired me to stand up during situations tighter

You are the one who knew education is important with perseverance

You are one who knew revolution was important for independence

I have read your stories so many times to know you and your vision

Yet I feel it needs to be read many more times to know your every mission

You had decided to join freedom struggle at such a tender age

The genes running within did not let you rest and enjoy your teenage

You knew Revolution was very important for freedom of this nation

Hence, you proposed formation of Hindustan Socialist Republican Association

You knew the entire system needs a thorough change the equation

Else the Browns (Indians) would replace the Whites and continue exploitation

The Babugiri system would remain and become a new tradition

This prediction was so correct as even today we face this complication

Hats off to your knowledge of history of India and every other aspect

Even some of the Britishers were amazed and silently gave you respect

They were petrified by your popularity as you conveyed the perfect message

They did torture you in all possible manner but you smiled adding to their rage

Some of your moves like throwing bomb in the assembly and getting arrested

Observing a 116 days fast without food with support everywhere was tested

The support for better treatment to Indians in the Jail ensured your win

Never were you a captive even in a Jail, as you had become 'free' from within

The fright Britishers had regarding you can be known by incidents which came to light

Understanding the public demand, they executed hanging a day earlier during twilight

Your last wish to be shot like a revolutionary instead of hanging was rejected

All your writings within the Jail was burnt to ashes and the country was dejected

At the age of 23, against everybody's wishes and prayers, you achieved martyrdom

Your sacrifice created the ripples and played a vital role in our Country's freedom

Today's generation must know read about your struggles, sacrifices, life - full of thorn

They get everything even before they ask, is this the reason that Bhagat is not reborn??

Remembering you on your 113th birth Anniversary, for sowing the seeds

Accept my respect through these verses I could pen down to glorify some of your deeds

Jai Hiind, Vande Mataram!!!
