Image
Being a child, My silly mischiefs, Would stop instantly, With your mere mention, I froze! Being a student, My horrible scorecards, Needed your signature, With your mere glance, I froze! Being a teenager, I wanted to be a king, The clashing of our ideas, Would extend to your scolding, I froze! Being a man, I chose entrepreneurship, You supported the same, Won my heart by counselling, I froze! Your ideas of life, Impacted me a lot, Today, I live what you taught, For I found those practical, Values froze! Reaching mid-forties, When I sat beside you, After talking for a few moments, You chose to be silent forever, I froze! You lived a life king size Your values have a legacy, Watching you in a freezer, Lying calmly with a smile, I froze! Author's Note - Thank you #dywt for giving me a chance to pen down my emotions. The Vaccum

Image
The time you lose a near one You realise the sudden vacuum Blank within and outside you 'cry' missing your dear one As the sad news spreads Friends and relatives pour in You realise nothing around Calls and messages you receive Every person provides a shoulder A few people share words of wisdom Some shower love silently while Others provide strength by presence When friends, relatives arrive The 'cry' now seeks their shoulder  The grief you share on arrival Depends on the depth of the relationship The more you connect to a person the more anguish you express Their response you bother least Deep within, a relief you feel Many realisations at that time The importance of being good to all Serving everyone without expectation May reduce the pain of regret later The pain of losing a close relative very difficult to digest at that time the more helping hands you have  the easier you tide over the loss

Lie

Image
It always starts as a small lie, encouraged by its success, the child always gives another try, making a habit to clear every mess. Surprisingly at that moment in life, the lie seems to be the right path, to come of situations without strife, and save oneself from severe wrath. Treading along, many people found, giving thumbs up and a broad smile, the child feels relieved with many around, believing this is a jackpot, at least for this while. Unknowingly he sharpens this skill, using lie frequently, setting himself free, enjoying life, shrugging responsibility at will, he digs his own grave while trying to flee. In the process, the child wins the smaller battle, but ends up losing the big war. The small problem grows big unable to tackle, injuries convert into wounds leaving a scar. It is always better to follow the path of honesty, for truth never needs to be remembered. The stress of today’s man is due to his dishonesty, many lie stored in the mind, keeping it clustered.

A major missing

“Mamaji, mamaji, it is not there,…” huffing and puffing said Satish. “Check carefully, it must be beneath some of the other bags,” Samir replied. “I have checked the entire room thrice, but not able to find it, I’m worried,” emphasizing his problem, explained Satish. “Wait, let us check the room,” confirmed Samir. ---xx--- The entire Mishra family was jubilant. The prince of the family, Satish, had agreed to a marriage proposal after many years of refusal. After completing M. Tech, Satish had flown to the United States and his lifestyle changed dramatically. Having settled there for over five years, he detested the traditions and customs back home. To ensure his parents led a luxurious and contended life, he purchased a flat in posh society in the city which was roughly 40kms away from his village. His respect for his parents was unmatchable, but there was a constant tiff between him and family members on the issue of marriage.   They wanted him to get “settled down in

An Ode to The Don

Image
As the mention of 'Zero'  reflected on my mind, The instant reference with no competition of any kind, Was the Don who left a  cricketing legacy behind, Undoubtedly, a batsman like him, the game is yet to find. Sir Donald George Bradman was an ultimate showman, The entire cricketing fraternity knew him to be a hitman, His bat did most of his talking on the ground as the match began A few of his batting records are tough to beat by any living man He served the cricketing fraternity even after retirement Served as a Cricketing Administrator as per requirement He enjoyed 'being in the game', a competitive environment He gave Australian cricket, the needed enlightenment That day of Oval, when fans expected one more of his tons He too knew, he needed only 4 runs to maintain a test average of 100 runs The second ball 'duck' was disbelief, silenced all the roaring guns That 'Zero' proved, "Every game is a leveller, even for chosen ones"

The Camouflage

“He has consumed it even today,” informed Lakhan. “I’m surprised, how does he manage this?” an annoyed Dr Prakash yelled. “We were alert sir, the usual abnormality showed up,” “Yes, yes, I understand. It’s been over a month now, let me think something different,” assured the doctor. Sheth Rupayamal was born with a silver spoon. Born in a royal family, he got more than what he demanded. Such pampering made him lazy, irresponsible and lethargic. He never found anything interesting and motivating in real life. He even dropped out of school even before completing basic education. To add to his woes, he found some bad company to pass time. His so-called friends made him consume different things to get into a trance. What started with a smoke went to a weed and then he started consuming the dreaded GHB also known as ‘liquid ecstasy. He was now addicted to this colourless, odourless liquid-killer for the past few years. He wasted the family money without caring for anyone. His s

The First Revolutionary

Image
“Dear students, tell me who was the first revolutionary in the history of Indian Independence?” asked Surbhi, the teacher of VII grade. “Bhagat Singh madam,” came the instant answer “No,” she politely replied. “Subash Chandra Bose?” another student asked her back “No” “Chandrashekhar Azad,” one more reply “Though your replies are all correct, you all need to dig deeper into this subject,” she encouraged. “Mangal Pandey,” one boy screamed. “Wow, this was 1857, but then his heroics had some precedence as well.” “Dear students, the names you all called out were lucky ones, they found a mention in our history books. There are many more unsung heroes who laid their lives down for our Motherland; their sacrifices either went unnoticed or unmentioned. A few local villagers of those times knew about the ultimate sacrifices. With the passage of time, even such stories get buried. The first act of revolution, much before 1857 had happened in 1784-85. This act was recognized and credit is rightl

Speed breaker

Image
For drivers who drive like a speed gun Those who love to race under this sun A speed-breaker destroys all the fun The sudden ‘screech’ hurts everyone   Our city does not have such speed-breakers The roads themselves are the biggest shakers The driver and travellers are Quakers Cheaters are those road makers   A ride through the city is an uninvited massage The man at the hospital and vehicle at the garage A huge cost paid due to the regular sabotage Memories of owner car framed as a collage   Being in the 75 th year of Indian independence We, unfortunately, believe in the system of dependence The time is ripe for transforming to transcendence Let us all unite in this fight for ascendance

A Costly Change

Image
A young rich lady, Ms Mona, Enjoyed her life to the core Never bothered about worries, As she got more than she asked.   Attending kitty parties frequently She had a wonderful gang of friends Eating, gossiping, their days moved She was living extravagantly.   One day, she felt dizzy and fell down Worried, the friends took her to a nearby hospital To the astonishment of everyone She was diagnosed with a rare disease   “You will survive for a few days from now” pronounced the doctor worriedly. “No, I am unfinished with my living,” a sobbing Mona claimed.   “Only God can help you,” The doctor said in his normal tone and went. Mona’s life had a U-turn completely, She spent hours praying to God rigorously.     Such was her dedication and penance, God appeared and granted her a wish. “I want to be cured of this disease now” said Ms Mona instantly without mincing words.   “Tathasthu” blessed God and vanished. Overjoyed, Ms Mona wa

My Experiences during Mahad Relief Work, 2021

Image
Being a Socially responsible Individual (ISR), with a lot of empathy that whenever and wherever a natural disaster broke, we tried our best to help out our fellow men. Be it Tsunami 2006 or Nepal floods or Kerala disaster or Kolhapur floods, V. K. Memorial Welfare Association (VKMWA) has extended help and support to the extent possible either directly or in association with other organizations, carrying similar thought process. The news of 22 nd July, 2021 flash floods at Chiplun and Mahad were heartbreaking. We got an opportunity to be a part of the relief campaign through my ex-student and a very socially responsible person – Mr. Rakesh Nandurkar. Shivswapn Trekkers, a socially responsible group of young guns, and Swachandi, another trekking group. They had already announced details about the collection of relief materials at various places in Mumbai. VKMWA provided its library space and also, XII students at Heramb agreed to volunteer. Around 40 students volunteered during th

Reason

Adnan Sami, a multi-talented personality of Bollywood, A wonderful singer, lyricist, pianist, talented since childhood, Looked handsome, but obesity was not very good, At 230kgs, he was much more than he ideally should. The simple question he put was, “Why should I?” “My fans loved me this way, which me a high.” “Your life is 6 months,” said a doctor once with a sigh! Adnan reduced 167kgs, for he got his Why. There may be many reasons like dislike or fear, But there might be one strong reason to steer, Every activity you do needs this reasoning clear, The consistency of doing the act becomes dear. Students are the best examples of multi-tasking force, No doubt, they are the most efficient energy source, A clear goal-setting helps them clearing the course, Moving ahead, they become leaders of course. Planting of a reason is similar to planting a seed, With proper nourishment, you automatically kill the weed, With the passage of time, you enjoy fruits of the good deed, This succe
