Romantic Thoughts

“Actress Srilakshmi’s Talk Show: Venue – Sree Krishna Auditorium, Vilanayur. Time:4pm” read the posters throughout the Pallakad District for the last week. There was a huge crowd to have a glimpse of their favourite actress and the rates of tickets shot up ten times the original cost as soon as the program was announced. The organisers were overwhelmed with the audience response for such a unique concept. The auditorium had a seating capacity of 250 members only. Make hay when the sun shines, the organisers knew this and sold more than 500 ticket as many agreed to stand and hear their heartthrob. Srilakshmi was a small time village girl who shot to fame for her dance moves in the latest Mollymood movies. She was born and bought up in a conservative family. Her passion of dancing paid her rich dividends. Having got professional training in Bharatnatyam for over 10 years, she got good exposure through her dance teacher for various competitions. The Desert Storm

Image
The Desert Storm The day 22 nd April, 1998, the fans expected a strong reaction Against the Aussies, the Indian batting failed in action But, one man stood between the Aussies and their win He took the onus on self, became the center of attraction   He faced with grit, the pace bowling as well their attack of spin Losing partners at other end, he did not let negativity set in The Master blaster ensured the Indian team reached the final An innings which earned him the title ‘Desert Storm’ akin   Not only did he contribute for Indian team’s survival He played a scintillating innings in finals against the same rival The team won the title; he was applauded for his cricketing brain His innings showcased the mighty Aussies as trivial   Was it a match between one v/s eleven was difficult to explain? Though the team fought, it was a single man controlling the chain The mighty Aussies agreed, even the dust storm failed to contain That day, the true batt

The Game of Reflection

Image
Arjun was born with a silver spoon. He had all the luxuries one could ever imagine since childhood. He was the 3rdchild of the family with 2 elder brothers and 2 younger brothers. The five brothers formed a strong army amongst themselves and the entire neighbourhood feared them the most. Each brother had his specialization. Arjun specialized in the field of Information Technology, he was a tech wizard. While others just operated high-end mobiles, Arjun would learn the insights of the configuration of the mobiles, he would find out the grey areas in the upcoming technology and used basic handset for his requirements. He knew that every high-end mobile was susceptible to hacking. He trained himself to be an ethical hacker. He spent hours specializing in his art of hacking. He was regularly called by the Cyber-crime police to solve high profile cases. The only weakness Arjun had was his madness for the online games. He would lose money on online bets initially but to make good the loss, h

Reflection

Image
Thank you Vilas Shete sir for teaching me the ABC of Accountancy.... This Friday prompt was #reflection at #Didyouwritetoday forum.... This poem is dedicated to you Shete sir  It was two decades ago, I still vaguely remember When I took the stage as a young vibrant and excited teacher Teaching a practical question stating an accounting concept  I went into trance explaining the deep logic and theory When suddenly there was a murmur among the students  Brought me back to senses and my curious mind wanted to know why? Fearing rejection, I asked a few of them the reasons for their murmur To my surprise, they replied, "You are a reflection of your teacher" My heart swelled with pride as it was my moment of glory I could not hold back my tears, nor could I express my emotions directly That day  I reflected the man whom I idolised all my life  Unknowingly I even picked up his manners, lines, and style Years passed, I moved ahead sharing the baton of love for accountancy In the mean

The Energy Chain

Image
The year 2075 “Reservoir” as he was fondly called, Guru Debendranath was an exemplary model reflecting bundle of energy. His face radiated the energy within and all his disciples were just in awe of his mere sight. The “Guru” had an aura of attracting disciplines with every sermon and the list scaled with each passing day. The national headlines had always a positive snippet to share on his charisma. Hailing from rural Bengal, Guru had settled down on the outskirts of Nashik in Maharashtra. Everyday several activities of social relevance were carried out by the disciples and the Guru’s backing ensured it was a huge success. Lately, the Ashram celebrated its Guru’s 150 th birthday!!! The secret to these glorious 150 years was the pearly necklace adorned by Debendranath. Each pearl had been curated with precision and immense positivity. It was a legacy passed down to generations of able gurus. Each pearl in the necklace had to be refilled with energies beaming from happiness, gr

Blind

Image
#firdayword #blind A guy complained to Swami Vivekananda, "I lost my eye" "The one without a vision is more blind than you," came the reply These words of wisdom has an indepth relevance In this modern world, there exist people blinded by poor guidance Every leader represents the thought of the group He becomes the mind, hands, legs and eyes of the troop Proper guidance and selfless teamwork create wonders A poor leader leads to lower morale with lots of blunders A lion leading a pack of dogs is more powerful For a dog leading a team of lions would still be doubtful Helen Keller revolutionised everyone's thought process She proved people without eyes no less Today, the association for blind backs them and  takes a strong stand For they have mentally won all the problems on hand If one person can revolutionise an entire regiment  How can a pair of eyes hamper their growth and development? A blind is not a person who cannot just see  A blind is that person who has

Mistakes

Image
Mistakes happen quite regularly in our daily lives The reaction can be either punishment or forgive Punishment is negative for bitterness it leaves Forgiveness enforces positivity, forces to believe The number of times a mistake can be forgiven matters Being good always leads to negative platters The individual and organizational goal shatters Within no time, the relationship and trust scatters A mistake for one may fall on others’ ear deaf The moment he realizes this, he defends himself Acceptance of a mistake strengthens oneself Not so easy to be humble to ask to excuse thyself An interesting fact is a close observation invites more mistake Even a perfectionist commits mistake at the precise take Experience jumps in many times, avoids the expected break Maximum efforts are taken to minimize the loss at stake To err is human, goes the common saying Every human errs, especially while working The important question is, how many times is he repeating? A mistake rectified, actually helps

Lost

Image
Their cousins caused a lot of atrocities upon them Even their small kingdom turned into mayhem The best part was each brother was a true gem They knew the perfect time for revenge had come The Pandavas prepared for the war mentally and physically As the problems with Kauravas were not solvable amicably They had analysed the problems and solutions critically The rivalry between the cousins flared up politically With enough support gathered from outside for the war Arjun led the Pandavas to the battlefield with courage and flair At the dawn of the battle-day, there was a situation of mind scare He requested his charioteer to move closer as he was standing far The moment he reached the middle of the battlefield There was an emotional eruption which he could not shield He fell down on his knees as he felt lost to feelings sealed He surrendered to his friend, Krishna who had just wheeled The next few hours were pure bliss for the ears The flow of words was targeted to neutralise the fears T

The Nest

Image
The human thought of being the best, Rides on arrogance, until put to test, He feels his creations are safest to rest, for he never compared them with nature’s nest.   Nests are not what one imagines tree-hanging, They are bird’s temporary places for camping, Mostly created on trees, nests are amazing, Sometimes on the ground, others are cliff-hanging.   The nests of the Montezuma are like low hanging fruit, found on the lands of the Caribbean, conditions their suit. Contrary to thoughts, Malleflows create nests very cute, laying eggs in the ground, the young ones find their route.   A saguaro cactus can be the most uncomfortable place, But, within that, the Ferruginous Pygmy owl  finds its space. The Sociable Weaver of southern Africa wins the nest race, Its huge communal nests are free for all after breeding days.   The bird-nest soup created by the saliva of E dible-nest Swiftlet, This soup is known to adventurous diners, I bet. Guests - Welcome!!!

Image
Every time I visited my friend’s place I found a new person in that space When I enquired about the new face “My Uncle” would be the reply with grace   I found it funny and asked him once The number of uncles you have is suspense? My bigger worry, do you also incur their expense? The answer would be a smile in defence   Sometimes, he would explain in words few The village was remote, where he grew The villagers believed to have a roof they knew At a metropolitan city, a place new   The purpose of their visit would vary Some came searching a job of dreams they carry A few rare ones came to the city to marry A few came to get rid of their diseases scary   The purposes though different were treated at par Every day the ‘guests’ would go places, near or far Managing their food and routine was a tough affair With limited means, the family raised the helping-bar     I was dumb-stuck observing this pattern regularly The true meaning of cha

The Vaccum

Image
The time you lose a near one You realise the sudden vacuum Blank within and outside you 'cry' missing your dear one As the sad news spreads Friends and relatives pour in You realise nothing around Calls and messages you receive Every person provides a shoulder A few people share words of wisdom Some shower love silently while Others provide strength by presence When friends, relatives arrive The 'cry' now seeks their shoulder  The grief you share on arrival Depends on the depth of the relationship The more you connect to a person the more anguish you express Their response you bother least Deep within, a relief you feel Many realisations at that time The importance of being good to all Serving everyone without expectation May reduce the pain of regret later The pain of losing a close relative very difficult to digest at that time the more helping hands you have  the easier you tide over the loss

Lie

Image
It always starts as a small lie, encouraged by its success, the child always gives another try, making a habit to clear every mess. Surprisingly at that moment in life, the lie seems to be the right path, to come of situations without strife, and save oneself from severe wrath. Treading along, many people found, giving thumbs up and a broad smile, the child feels relieved with many around, believing this is a jackpot, at least for this while. Unknowingly he sharpens this skill, using lie frequently, setting himself free, enjoying life, shrugging responsibility at will, he digs his own grave while trying to flee. In the process, the child wins the smaller battle, but ends up losing the big war. The small problem grows big unable to tackle, injuries convert into wounds leaving a scar. It is always better to follow the path of honesty, for truth never needs to be remembered. The stress of today’s man is due to his dishonesty, many lie stored in the mind, keeping it clustered.

A major missing

Image
“Mamaji, mamaji, it is not there,…” huffing and puffing said Satish. “Check carefully, it must be beneath some of the other bags,” Samir replied. “I have checked the entire room thrice, but not able to find it, I’m worried,” emphasizing his problem, explained Satish. “Wait, let us check the room,” confirmed Samir. ---xx--- The entire Mishra family was jubilant. The prince of the family, Satish, had agreed to a marriage proposal after many years of refusal. After completing M. Tech, Satish had flown to the United States and his lifestyle changed dramatically. Having settled there for over five years, he detested the traditions and customs back home. To ensure his parents led a luxurious and contended life, he purchased a flat in posh society in the city which was roughly 40kms away from his village. His respect for his parents was unmatchable, but there was a constant tiff between him and family members on the issue of marriage.   They wanted him to get “settled down in
